About: Madelina

One of our most local customers, Madelina is a family-run café right in the heart of Brixton (just a 5 min walk from our Brixton HQ). As one of our first customers to serve the Delta Blend, we wanted to chat with the owners, Eugen and Mady to find out more about their café and experience using our coffee.

Tell us about your business.

Our journey into the hospitality sector started 12 years ago when my partner, Mady, and I relocated from Romania to London wanting to establish a café in the vibrant city. Before we opened Madelina, we worked in a local coffee shop for almost a year, learning a lot about the local coffee culture. We opened our first café in East Dulwich in October 2013 and our Brixton branch in 2016. We are planning to open more London branches in the future.

Why did you choose to work with Volcano?

Our affiliation with Volcano Coffee Works is deeply rooted in our initial days within the coffee scene. The very first café we worked in, 12 years ago, partnered with Volcano for their coffee supply. It was here that we had our first Volcano coffee training, learning a lot about the intricacies of coffee making. These formative experiences left a lasting impression, making it a natural choice for us to work with Volcano when we opened our café. We continue to work with Volcano because of the quality and consistency that they have demonstrated over the years.

What Volcano coffee do you serve?

At both our branches, we are proud to serve the Delta Blend. This particular blend has been a real favourite for our customers who often comment on the distinctive taste and quality. The Delta blend has played a huge part in our café’s identity and customer satisfaction.

What is your favourite coffee order to make?

A: Personally, my favourite coffee to prepare (and drink) is an Oat Flat White. We cater for a lot of plant-based customers so this is a popular choice at our café.
